On-Line Fluid Power Safety Training Courses

The AFPS in conjunction with the Hydraulic Safety Authority Of Canada Inc.are promoting occupational health and safety courses specifically design for people engaged in the fluid power industry and or companies that uses fluid power in their manufacturing or industrial processes.

Fluid power and electricity are both forms of transmitting energy and most often hydraulics are described as being comparable to electricity. Hydraulics, much like electricity, should be respected; however the safety standards greatly differ. People are exposed to both hydraulic and electrical conduits, however in comparison, electricity is less likely to burst out of an electrical conduit and potentially cause injuries such as burns, fluid injections, physical impact, loss of supporting loads, potential fatalities and environmental damage.
Hydraulic operated equipment is used in all industry sectors and most personnel are unaware of the associated hazards. Related injuries include soft tissue injury or crushing, fractures, dislocations, lacerations or skin punctures, amputation, burns and fluid injection. Not only has injury and death occurred, hydraulics have caused environmental damage and property/equipment loss.

Universally Compatible Courses.
All these courses are created using standards that will allow playback on most internet capable devices with standard web browsing capabilities including Apple’s iTouch, iPad, and iPhone, as well as most other smart phones and tablets including those with Android and Windows operating systems.

Hydraulic Safety Exposure Level Online Test: Testing conducted throughout this online Hydraulic Safety course is designed to reinforce the information presented. Supplemental materials necessary to complete this course can be accessed online.

Hydraulic Safety Exposure Level Certificate Of Completion: Users will receive their certificate of completion, hard hat sticker, and wallet cards by mail within 21 business days of course completion. Certificates and wallet cards are valid for 3 years and are indicated on each.

Pressurized fluids are common in all industry sectors including the home and must be considered extremely hazardous. This e-learning awareness course identifies these hazards and provides the learner with knowledge on mitigating this hazard. Injection injuries have led to loss of limbs and long term paralyses including death. The incident reports contained throughout this comprehensive course are graphic and depict how extreme injection injuries can be. This course also provides methods of first aid. 4) Hydraulic Safety In Construction Online Course Overview

Not only has injury and death occurred, but hydraulic failures have also caused environmental damage through spills, as well as property and equipment loss from fire and mechanical failure.

This online Hydraulic Safety in Construction course contains over 800 visual learning aids including numerous videos, animations, procedures, and reference documents.
